Compute units, explained

Not every RPC call costs the same to serve. A cached eth_chainId is nearly free; a wide eth_getLogs scan is not. Compute units (CU) let us price that honestly.

On Nadcab RPC, standard methods cost 20 CU and a set of metadata methods (eth_chainId, net_version, web3_clientVersion and similar) cost 0 CU.

At $0.375 per million CU, one million standard requests cost about $7.50. Use the calculator on the Billing page to estimate spend from expected request volumes.
